First BSR LNG Cluster B2B event has started!

Klaipėda became the platform for the first BSR LNG Cluster B2B event, which started 15th of November. The event brought together providers of LNG technologies, LNG suppliers, representatives from science institutions – around 100 participants.

Meeting gathered delegates from Lithuania, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Germany, Poland, France, Estonia and speakers from top companies like „Schneider Electric“, „Emerson“, „Iveco“, „Nauticor GmbH & Co KG“, which came to share their knowledge, explore new ideas and develop cooperation possibilities.

Participants were introduced to LNG hybrid rail locomotive technology project, which is being developed in Lithuania, KN (AB Klaipėdos Nafta) presentation was dedicated to LNG distribution and bunkering infrastructure in the BSR.

The participants not only learned and discussed about best practices involving LNG in energy and transport sectors, but also were offered a an opportunity to visit the newest LNG terminal in Baltics.

16th of November the event wil continue with the training for maritime-related personnel, which will contribute to the safe operation of a ship subject to the IGF code, hazard prevention and control, safety precautions and measures, respond to emergencies, taking precautions to prevent pollution of the environment.

BSR LNG Cluster meeting and LNG training sessions are held within the framework of the Go LNG project, which is being implemented by the Klaipeda Science and Technology Park – a leader of the project and a coordinator of the Lithuanian LNG cluster.

The BSR LNG Cluster and the LNG Competence Centre of the BSR were established on 26th April 2017 in Vilnius. These international cooperation platforms aim at facilitating the growth of innovation, technologies and infrastructure in the area of LNG, brings together educational and science institutions in order to create a specific network which will enhance access to LNG technologies and enable the improvement of knowledge, as well as strengthening the critical mass of LNG specialists, which is imperative for the development of LNG technologies in the BSR.
