LNG cluster will happen in Poland!

Over 40 representatives from the energy and maritime industry, as well as members of the academia, gathered on October 18th in Sopot at the Faculty of Economics at the University of Gdansk, to take part in the “GoLNG Polska” seminar.

The seminar was dedicated to the use of small-scale LNG in the transport and energy sectors in Poland and further development of the LNG Value Chain in the Baltic Sea Region. The aim of the event, organized by the Motus Foundation, was the introduction of the Polish LNG cluster and an examination of possibilities for its establishment.

The seminar focused on a range of topics, from the current situation of small scale LNG in Poland and the Baltic Sea Region, LNG technology in shipyards to supply logistics in the transport and energy industry.

The speaker line-up featured key LNG stakeholders, among them representatives from the Polish Oil and Gas Company (PGNiG), Gas Transmission Operator GAZ-SYSTEM and Remontowa LNG Systems. The presentations underlined the importance of promotion and support of LNG as an alternative fuel for transport on national and regional level.

The event has been well-received, resulting in several valuable LNG stakeholders expressing their interest in joining a mutual Polish LNG cluster and participating in such an initiative.

Motus Foundation outlined the next steps with the official establishment of the Polish LNG Cluster. The next meeting has been scheduled for November.
