Usage of LNG for transport is emerging in Lithuania

The possibility of using LNG for transport is emerging in Lithuania! Such assumptions are provided due to changes in the State's legal framework. The great potential of Lithuania liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal has not been used for transport purposes so far, but now the situation may change. Jurgita Šilinskaitė-Venslovienė, KN Acting Chief Sales Officer, notes that KN's LNG reloading station operating in Klaipėda port since 2017 with 5,000 cubic meters storage tanks, the purpose of which is to carry out loading and distribution of LNG in the region, is not enough exploited.

It is planned to build 4 LNG filling stations in Lithuania. In order to implement this project, the subsidies will be used, which will be provided by the Ministry of Environment of the Republic of Lithuania due to emission reduction.
