Klaipeda Shipping Research Centre

Klaipeda Shipping Research Centre (KSRC) is non profit public entity work mainly in Maritime Sector. Main tasks of the KSRC:

  • Maritime policy;
  • Shipping research, organization and management;
  • Shipping safety and security;
  • Logistics;
  • Port development;
  • Navigational safety;
  • Port operations and optimization;
  • Transport corridors research and optimization;
  • Motorway of the sea research and organization;

KSRC was created in 2007. KSRC team work in Maritime Sector since 1990 with National and International Maritime Research Programs and Projects, such us EU programs and projects FP-7, PHARE, INTERBALTIC, Leonardo da Vinci, BSR (Baltic Sea Region), SBSR (South Baltic Sea Region). KSRC last 5 years take a part or managing in FP7 MARPOS project, in 2 Baltic Sea region projects (East-West Transport corridor II, Amber cost logistics), in 2 South Baltic Region projects (OVERSIZE BALTIC, MT-LNG), in number Lithuania national projects (more than 20).

Every year together with other Lithuania Institutions organize International Conferences “TRANSPORT MEANS”, make presentations on International and National Maritime Conferences (in average 6 – 8 presentations per Year).

7 PhD (one Habilitate Doctor) professors and 4 engineers-researches constantly or partly work in organization, which make research works in Maritime Sector, mainly in Maritime policy, navigation safety, Oversize cargo and LNG transportation, Logistics, shipping, ports and terminals development and other.
